‘Texas Flood’ was a surprise hit upon its release, so Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble had to bring their best for the follow-up. The result was ‘Couldn’t Stand The Weather,’ an album of electrifying Texas blues (“Cold Shot”) and fiery rock (a cover of Jimi Hendrix’s “Voodoo Chile (Slight Return)”) that further established SRV as the blues guitarist to beat in the 1980s.
